This week at the Olsens, ending January 18, 2009

Morning all! I do not have a whole lot to report this week. Sorry I have not started my history but that will come soon. I do intend to do that after we complete the basement and the taxes! Anyway, this week I have a great movie to recommend if you did not see it. Bridal Wars. It is so good and Stephen and I loved it and wanted to never have it end. Ann Hathaway and Kate Hudson were terrific in it and no wonder Ann Hathaway just won the Critics Choice award for it. Anyway, a great movie.

Steve is so moving on the basement. It looks fabulous and I even threw a paint roller around and felt proud of myself. He is finishing up the painting and I am so excited to double our living space. The bathroom is going to be "The Plaza of NY" quality! (Well, not really, but I love it just the same). The design is great, the colours and so on are going to make this a room to sit in the tub and relax. So come on down in a month when all is put together.

This is a photo Stephen J took of me yesterday. I have to tell you about the outfit. As my kids and husband know, I love Audrey Hepburn, oh quiet Kris and Jonathan - I know I do not have her face, figure or anything else that closely resembles her (Oh I wish!), but, I do love her style. When I was living in Broken Hill there were few places to shop for classy clothes, and as many know this lady is a fashionista, and so I would design my outfit and take the design and the cloth to a dressmaker and have it made. I would mostly pick her style of clothing. So two months ago I see this outfit I am wearing in Christensens and it was pretty dang expensive, and all I could do was look and weep! Saturday I was in there, and here it has a price tag of $19.99!!!! I grabbed it so fast and paid for it, I ran out of the store before they could change their minds on the price, just in case, which they wouldn't, but you catch my drift. So good deal and reduced so much it is beyond the ridiculous!

Anyway, It has been a fun week with three birthdays and another next week. Nat, Brennen and Em all had happy birthdays and now Ethan is going to turn 2 next week! What a fun month to celebrate the birth of all these wonderful individuals who I am proud to say are my family! So happy birthday to you all!
Raise a glass and celebrate Australia day on the 26th! I ordered Aussie meat pies and sausage rolls and having them flown in overnight! Can you believe that? Yes it indeed is true and my mouth is drooling just thinking of when they get here. If only they had the Broken Hill pasties that I love, but they of course do not. These are real Aussie goods though and I can hardly wait, plus, for you Aussies, I am getting Jaffas, Raspberry Cordial and Milo to boot! Now I cannot hardly wait.

Oh one more thing. I bought Jillian Michaels, Biggest Loser, Wii workout. It is designed for your own pace and believe me when I tell you this, a snail looks good compared to me! Does that tell you where my pace is? I love the sports on Wii and I am kicking some royal hind end in bowling these days, but Stephen is cheating and sneaks in practices when I leave the house. He does - he is a cheater. The other day he tells me he got 9 strikes and a spare and had this outrageous score. If he were a liar I would not believe him, but honestly, he is not, but sometimes I wish he would as I did not need to know that he did so well in his practice!

Well cheerio people and chat more later.

An excellent find, and price! I am trying to have a more classy eye as I shop for clothes. I have had great luck at target on the clearance rack, and I haven't spent more than $18 per item, not bad!

I very seldom ever pay full price. I did some shopping a while back for some different items. It would have been over $300.00 and I paid around $115.00. Steve always walks away shaking his head when he sees the deals I get. I have an item I want
and I picture it mentally, put a price to it, and vol la there it is. It is amazing how I manage that but I do. Isn't it fun to do it like that? So much can be saved and I do not mind spending then.
